Early life#
Lawtey was born in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England on October 26, 1996 [1][2]. At the time of his birth, his father, an aircraft engineer, was stationed at RAF Brize Norton [1]. His parents are originally from Barton-upon-Humber, a town in Northern England, where many of his relatives still reside [1]. He identifies strongly with his parents' hometown, despite never having lived there [1]. Lawtey has an older brother, George, who is a first-team coach for Swansea City AFC [1].When Lawtey was four years old, his family relocated to Cyprus [1]. At the age of 13, he saw a touring production of Oliver! in Cyprus, which inspired him to pursue acting [1].
